London to Paris Charity Bike Ride
9th - 13th September 2009
Connect two of the world's most chic capital cities as you embark on the charity bike ride challenge of a lifetime.
We have once again teamed up with Skyline to offer another exciting event to help with fundraising on behalf of Tourettes Action.
If you are afraid of heights and not good with water but instead wish to keep your feet on terra firma then why not get on your bike and do a sponsored cycle ride from London to Paris?
Not only will you be raising valuable and greatly appreciated funds on behalf of Tourettes Action but you will be keeping yourself fit and healthy while taking in some of the most beautiful countryside in Europe.
The London to Paris cycle ride takes you through beautiful English villages and into the stunning countryside of rural France you'll follow the River Seine and pass areas associated with World War I until you reach Paris, undoubtedly one of the most magical places on earth. The sense of achievement you'll experience will be one you'll cherish forever an unforgettable experience awaits you.
Below is your itinerary for the trip:
DAY 1
An early start from SE London allows us to avoid the morning traffic. Our route takes us SE away from the main routes towards Tonbridge and on through the Kent countryside to Dover where we catch the ferry to Calais
DAY 2
After breakfast we head south through beautiful French countryside. Our route will take us along small quiet roads through villages and small towns. Night in Arras.
DAY 3
This morning after a couple of tough days in the saddle our legs may feel a little tired. Today we continue south through villages and along quiet French roads to the more forested region around Compiegne, where we spend the night.
DAY 4
Our final day's cycling takes us SW initially through small villages and woodland before we meet
the outskirts of Paris. We cycle though the Parisian streets around the Arc de Triumph to our finish beneath the lofty arches of the Eiffel Tower. Celebration meal.
DAY 5
Free day in Paris Eurostar home to London.
All you will need to do to is raise the minimum sponsorship amount of £1,250 and pay a deposit of £99.
Skyline will take care of everything for you such as travel arrangements and collecting sponsorship money, all you need to do is train hard and raise the minimum sponsorship.
