October is Free Wills Month
If you are over 55, Free Wills Month may mean you can have your Will written or updated free of charge, using the services of local solicitors in specific locations.
Members of the public aged 55 and over contact one of the firms of solicitors taking part in a Free Wills Month campaign at some time during the designated month to request an appointment. The solicitor will help to draw up a Will that accurately reflects the wishes of the individual or couple. You are under no obligation to leave a gift to one of the Free Wills Month charities. For more details, visit www.freewillsmonth.org.uk
No one likes to think of their own death. But if you die without making a will (intestate), your family may face months of stress, expense and uncertainty. Your assets may be distributed according to the law rather than your wishes. This could mean that your partner receives less, or that the money goes to family members who may not need it.
totallyfreewills.co.uk offers a free online service if you are over 18 and want to prepare a basic new will or update an existing will, and can advise on what to do if your situation is more complex. Or you may wish to consult your own solicitor.
Please consider making a gift to Tourettes Action when you make your will. After you have made the provisions you wish for your family and friends, a legacy to Tourettes Action is a wonderful way of continuing to support our work to help children and adults with TS after your death. There are different types of gift, and we hope you will find one that suits you.
