NORTH EAST TA GROUP

A day of horse-riding for the North East TA GroupNorth East Group Day Out

The North East Tourettes Action Group organised a brilliant family day out horse riding at the Pegasus Centre in Northumberland. The trip was partly funded by Northumberland County Council  under the Aiming High for Disabled Children scheme and partly funded by the fantastic fundraising of the North East Group.

MANCHESTER TA GROUP

The new Manchester TA Group held its first meeting on July 31^st  and they are planning to meet again on Saturday 4^th September.  New members are more than welcome.

NOTTINGHAMSHIRE TA GROUP  - Rachel and Ian Wilson

The Nottinghamshire Tourettes Action Support Group is now up and running.

My husband Ian and I are co-coordinators of the group, which we set up because a group was exactly what we needed when our son was diagnosed with TS 3 yrs ago. Sadly there wasn't a support group established and we heard that a lot of people wanted one, as did we.  So the answer was to get stuck in and create one, which we did.

We are mainly a parenting of children with TS group by circumstance, but naturally anyone with TS will always be welcome and in time maybe another group will develop which could help with many of the teenage kids approaching adult hood in our group.

At present we have 16 families registered to our group though obviously not all of them attend meetings every time, but do like to be kept on our emailing list for info etc.

We hold meetings every 4 weeks and the dates for the rest of this year are 14th August, 11th September, 9th October, 6th November and 4th December.

DERBYSHIRE TA GROUP

We now have a coordinator for a new Derbyshire TA Group and the first meeting will be held in October. This will be a fantastic opportunity to meet other local people whose lives are affected by TS in some way.   

BRISTOL TA GROUP

This group has been running for 9 years and has families that attend from Bristol and the surrounding areas of Somerset .  The meetings are a chance to meet new families and others living and dealing with the condition. We share information, friendship and experiences and parents and children are quite open and happy to talk about problems they may be experiencing or have experienced and ways in which they have dealt with them. Families and siblings are welcome to come along, please contact e- mail above if you would like to attend or just mail if you just want to chat about your experiences.  Next meeting on Sunday August 15^th.  Email Group Coordinator 

CORNWALL TA GROUP

Sara is going to be a Coordinator of the new Cornwall TA Group and she is hoping to hold the first meeting in October.  She would love to hear from anyone interested in joining the new group and she is also looking for one or two people to help organise the group.   She is really looking forward to meeting others with similar experiences.

SOUTH CENTRAL TA GROUP          -  covering North Hampshire, Berkshire and Surrey

Laura is the Group Coordinator for the new South Central group and she would love to hear from people in the above areas.  Date of first meeting to be advised. 

NORTHERN IRELAND TA GROUP

Heather will be coordinating a new group in Northern Ireland.   First group meeting to be held in September or October.  

MIDDLESBROUGH

There is a possibility of a new group starting in this area and we are very keen to hear from anyone interested in a group.
