Tourettes Action on HealthUnlocked

As you know, we recently launched our own chat forum for friendship and fun, as well as for support by sharing experiences.

We are now launching a new website with HealthUnlocked, which will not be a free-for-all forum like our chat forum, but will offer content provided by different members of the TS community.

Whether you are a doctor with TS patients, have experience of TS yourself, or have a child with TS, this website is designed for you, to help you better understand or express your views on Tourettes management, treatments and research.

What will the new site provide?

  • access to other people’s stories, news and developments (via a Group Blog)
  • a source of practical help from others (via an online helpline called 'Helpvine')
  • an occasional straw poll and discussion (called 'the Big Question')
  • a place to share useful Tourette’s links from the internet
  • access to other people affected by Tourette Syndrome

What's in it for doctors?

If you attended the Tourettes Action Research Network Meeting last Friday, you will know all about this website already – it’s a tool designed for TARN members, doctors and patients to use for sharing their views on treatment, research and management of Tourettes. The section for doctors is called TARN HealthUnlocked and is restricted to medics by GMC verification. If you don't have a GMC number and wish to join this area, you'll need to contact us.

What's in it for people with TS and their families?

If you have Tourettes yourself, or have children with Tourettes, you instead register for the TA HealthUnlocked section of the website, where you can express your views on Tourettes management and treatments.

Both patients and doctors can write blogs on the website, share useful links from the internet, and access practical help from other doctors or patients.

I want to get involved. What do I do?

So join now! Click on the button below to register.

It’s simple to use.  The form consists of 3 steps.

- Submit a username (nickname).

- Submit your email address (twice to make sure you type it right).

- Submit a password (twice to make sure you type it right)

Then you will be sent a verification email. (If you don’t get it within two or 3 minutes it’s worth checking your spam or junk mail).

We will then authorize you to get going.

The button below will take you straight there.
