Tourettes Action Camps

Our action-packed camps are a great opportunity for young people to make new friends and have fun without having to explain their symptoms.
Campers learn to work as a team: supporting each other and challenging themselves through a wide range of programmed activities.
This year, we received a grant from The Big Lottery Fund's Awards for All scheme, to deliver two camps for young people aged between 11 - 18 years old.
Camps for 11-15 year olds
Our first camp took place in August at the Gilwell Park Scouts Association on the London/Essex border. Tourettes Action have worked with the Scouts for the past 5 years to deliver an exciting programme of indoor and outdoor activities for the 11-15 year age group. This year, despite the rainy weather, everyone had a fantastic time and we'd like to say a huge thank you to everyone who joined us for making the trip such an enjoyable and special experience.
Camps for 15-18 year olds
For the first time in our history we ran a camp for older teens this year, working in collaboration with The Outward Bound Trust in Ullswater Lake District, to deliver an adventure holiday in the woilderness. The camp was equally as successful as our August camp. New friendships were forged, fun was had and we were really proud of everyone's achievemnets at completing the full course.
Camp is one of our most valuable services we offer. Year after year our monitoring and evaluating confirms the positive impact these experiences have on those who take part. We wish to continue offering these opportunities to young people, and only you can make it happen.
If you would like to discuss our camps further or register your interest for future camps please contact Helen.
We are very excited to announce that we have been awarded funding to bring our Welsh supporters two camps in early 2012. If you would like to find out more information about these future events please contact Julie.
