What we collect

We may collect the following information:

  • name and job title
  • contact information including email address, telephone number and postal address
  • demographic information such as postcode, preferences and interests
  • Medical information but limited to information about diagnosis related to Tourette Syndrome

We do not store credit card details nor do we share customer details with any 3rd parties.

Controlling your personal information

You may choose to restrict the collection or use of your personal information in the following ways:

  • whenever you are asked to fill in a form on the website, look for the box that you can click to opt in to receive information from Tourettes Action by email, sms, post etc.
  • if you have previously agreed to us using your personal information for direct marketing purposes, you may change your mind at any time by writing to or emailing us at admin@tourettes-action.org.uk.

We will not sell, distribute or lease your personal information to third parties unless we have your permission or are required by law to do so. We may use your personal information to send you promotional information about third parties which we think you may find interesting if you tell us that you wish this to happen. However, you can opt out of receiving this information using the online sign up forms.

You may request details of personal information which we hold about you under the Data Protection Act 1998. A small fee will be payable. If you would like a copy of the information held on you please write to Tourettes Action, The Meads Business Centre, 19 Kingsmead, Farnborough, Hampshire, GU14 7SR.

If you believe that any information we are holding on you is incorrect or incomplete, please write to or email us as soon as possible, at the above address. We will promptly correct any information found to be incorrect.

Retaining and deleting personal data

We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.

Helpdesk

Calls and emails to the TA Helpdesk are treated with confidentiality, unless we feel that there is a risk to the caller or another individual, when we may break confidentiality.

Calls and emails to the Helpdesk are logged for reporting purposes which help us provide a better service. By providing us with your contact details you consent that we can store them on our secure database. The storage of this data conforms with the details in our privacy policy (above).

If you do not wish for us to store your data you can contact us at any point in relation to the section above ‘controlling your personal information’.

Newsletter

By signing up to the TA newsletter you give us permission to email you with information and news relevant to TA and Tourette Syndrome. We will store your data securely within a third party system (sentori.com) and neither us or they will share it with any other parties without your permission.

If at any point you wish to be removed from our newsletter mailing list please contact us at help@tourettes-action.org.uk or click ‘unsubscribe’ on the bottom of the newsletter.

Online shop

Purchases from our online shop are logged on our secure database. We store your contact details and information about your purchase for our financial records. We do not store credit card details nor do we share customer details with any 3rd parties.

We aim to dispatch all orders from our shop within 7 working days of receiving your order. Orders are sent by Royal Mail, second class post, unless otherwise indicated.

We can only send orders within the UK. If you are outside the UK please contact us to discuss if we are able to help you with your order.

To request a refund or cancel an order, please contact us on 01252 362638 or email admin@tourettes-action.org.uk. We aim to respond and action all such calls and emails within 7 working days.
