In the past few years, a number of doctors have placed stimulators in the brains of people with Tourette Syndrome, generally with good results. The aim of this study was to look scientifically at this process in around 20 patients to examine whether Deep Brain Stimulation is likely to be a useful and well-tolerated operation for people with severe TS. This study was aimed at adults who have severe TS and who have found that conventional treatments, such as drugs, do not control their symptoms sufficiently or cannot be tolerated.

The results hope to be published in April 2015
