By Dr Mandy M Barnett, psychology graduate, clinical educator and retired consultant physician

Dr Mandy M Barnett worked for over 30 years in the NHS, and as an Associate Clinical Professor at Warwick Medical School (WMS). She is also a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians.

When Covid hit in March 2020, she became aware of a huge spike of cases of Tourette’s syndrome being reported in the press.

As the mother of two children (Alex and Angelica James) who both have Tourette’s syndrome, and with her background in medicine and education, she realised that this was something that she had a unique perspective on, and decided to write a guidebook for parents, which she completed in May 2022.

The book is titled: It’s NOT All About Swearing! A Practical Guide to Tourette’s Syndrome for Parents in a Post-Pandemic World

It is now available on Amazon in paperback and kindle versions.
