    ACAMH is a registered charity with over 60 years’ experience in promoting the advancement of child & adolescent mental health.  Their online publication - The Bridge - brings together research digests, and Tourette Syndrome is the focus of their February 2019 edition.

  • What If...a practical guide to possible problems

    A “What if” board is a strategy for making plans to combat potential difficult situations. It helps us to identify what our worries are and make plans to manage them.

    It’s a simple but effective strategy for managing big changes or common problems.

    During the current Covid-19 pandemic people are facing unprecedented changes to their daily lives, and are coping with anxieties related to health, finances and worries about family members.

    To support you we have compiled responses to some potential “What ifs” in the hope that they may provide you with some support and guidance at this difficult time.

    Psychology at work - improving wellbeing and productivity in the workplace

    Psychology is the scientific study of mind and behaviour, from communication and memory to thought and emotion. This report from the British Psychological Society can be used by policy makers, commissioners, practitioners and employers to apply relevant psychological theory, evidence and practice to design interventions that work with human behaviour, not against it.

    New Scientist article: People with Tourette's may find it easier to pick up new skills

    People with Tourette's syndrome seem to have enhanced memory that could make them better at learning tasks unconsciously, such as speaking a second language or driving a car.
