Tourette's Awareness Month 2026

From 15 May to 15 June, during Tourette’s Awareness Month, this year’s campaign takes a different approach. Instead of focusing on tic behaviours, No Choice places the spotlight firmly on how society responds to Tourette syndrome.

Tourette syndrome remains one of the most misunderstood neurological conditions. Too often, public perceptions are shaped by stigma, snap judgements, jokes, and misinformation — not by the lived realities of those with TS.

This Tourette’s Awareness Month, Tourettes Action is asking everyone to pause, reflect, and recognise a simple truth:

People with Tourette syndrome cannot choose their tics — but everyone else can choose how they respond.

With the support of the TS community, we can challenge harmful attitudes and help change how Tourette syndrome is understood. To support the campaign, we’ve created three posters for use throughout Awareness Month. We encourage you to download them, share them, display them, and invite your networks to do the same.

Together, we can shift the focus, challenge stigma, and remind the world that respect, understanding, and empathy are a choice.
