  • A certificate to display
  • Their organisation’s name, bio and logo on the Tourettes Action website
  • Membership to our monthly e-newsletter keeping them up to date with latest news

TS Friendly Schools

St Marie’s Catholic Primary School

St Marie’s Catholic Primary School is a small school in the heart of the community in Standish. We pride ourselves on knowing our children and families. Inclusion, support and the nurturing of individuals are key priorities for us and enable our children to grow, learn and develop into confident young people who are ready for the next stage of their journey.

Professional development is also key for us and we arrange INSET and training regularly to support our staff with their understanding of a range of SEND.

We are very proud of our happy school set on the outskirts of the city of Preston. Our brilliant children love learning using the excellent resources and facilities that we enjoy to support our curriculum.

The school grounds include a nature area, vegetable garden, Early Years creative play spaces, dedicated ball court for games and grassed fields for PE and games. A dedicated ‘Tech Zone’ is fully equipped with computers, laptops and i-pads which together with a 3D printing system allow our children to access the computing curriculum and a wider enriched technology curriculum. Our children and staff work together to be the very best they can through our whole school approach ‘My Personal Best’.

Communication Specialist College Doncaster

Our student cohort is diverse; from students with severe learning disabilities through to those who are working towards level 3 vocational qualifications. The college has all the vocational facilities of a mainstream college, however, because class sizes are small and communication, pastoral and therapeutic support is outstanding we can give young people, who can’t access a mainstream college, an opportunity to access the courses they want to. For many of our students, their main barrier to learning is their communication/social needs. They can work at an academic level that would lead to paid work, but the size, pace and level of language used in a mainstream college environment is too much for them. CSCD ensures all these barriers are broken down to allow students to fully access all stages of this learning journey.
