Have Your Say: Working with Tics and Tourette’s
Posted on 2 February 2026 by Pippa McClounan
A research project helping to develop the Tourette's Employment Passport
This study explores lived experiences of working with tics, Tourette syndrome, and other tic disorders (including functional tics). Your responses will directly inform and refine the design and content of the Tourettes Action Employment Passport - a practical tool designed to support people with tics to access work, stay in work, and thrive in their roles.
What's involved?
A short online questionnaire (approximately 10–15 minutes) covering:
- Workplace strengths
- Workplace challenges
- Reasonable adjustments
- Experiences of interviews
- Experiences of Access to Work (AtW) support
Who can take part?
Adults aged 18+ who have:
- Tourette syndrome, or
- Vocal, motor, or functional tic disorders
A formal diagnosis is not required - You may be employed or unemployed
There will also be an opportunity to express interest in joining a future paid focus group to help review the Employment Passport.
