We are thrilled to announce that TA Patron and award winning actor Eddie Marsan is presenting this month’s BBC Lifeline appeal on behalf of Tourettes Action.

Eddie’s connection to the cause is deeply personal. His son lives with Tourette syndrome, giving him first-hand experience of both the challenges associated with the condition and the positive impact that understanding, acceptance and support can have.

“I'm delighted to be supporting this appeal for Tourettes Action, a charity that means a great deal to me and my family. My son lives with Tourette syndrome, so I've seen firsthand both the challenges that can come with the condition and the difference that understanding and acceptance can make.”

Despite growing awareness, many people still have an inaccurate understanding of Tourette syndrome. Misconceptions and stereotypes can leave children, young people and adults facing unnecessary judgement and barriers at school, in the workplace and in everyday life.

Tourettes Action works to challenge these misunderstandings by providing trusted information, practical support and advocacy for individuals and families affected by Tourette syndrome. The charity also campaigns to increase awareness and improve understanding across society, helping to create more inclusive communities where people with Tourette syndrome can thrive.

Through its services, Tourettes Action supports people at every stage of their journey, offering resources, support networks and guidance for families, professionals and employers. The charity's work helps ensure that individuals with Tourette syndrome can access the understanding and opportunities they deserve.
