Tourettes Action Helpdesk

The Tourettes Action Helpdesk provides confidential and impartial support to those living with Tourette Syndrome (TS), their friends and family plus others seeking information such as teachers and employers.

You can reach us in a number of different ways:

  • Live chat:  Instant support via our website available Monday to Thursday 10am – 3pm
  • Contact the Helpdesk: Send a contact form and we will get back to you
  • Request a callback: Email us at and we will get back to you

(We will endeavour to get back to you within 48 hours)

We welcome contact from people with TS as well as their friends, family and any professionals who are seeking information and guidance. We deal with a wide range of subjects, including:

Please note that our Helpdesk does not give diagnoses or advice on medications; you should contact a medical professional to discuss such issues.

For a list of consultants who specialise in diagnosing and treating TS, please click here.

We also have a list of Behavioural Therapists who provide behavioural therapy for managing tics.

The Helpdesk is a confidential service. For our statistical purposes, and to inform you of local TA events, we add service users contact details and the reason to our secure database. You can chose to be contacted about news, research, local events etc. We will not share the details of your contact with any person outside of the organisation. However, in extreme circumstances, where there is a real and present risk of harm to a caller or another individual, we will break confidentiality.

The Helpdesk relies heavily on volunteers and we are always looking to recruit and train more people to help us continue providing information and support. If volunteering on the helpdesk interests you, please read more about what the role is, what it can do for you, and how you can get involved.

"I just wanted to say a massive thank you to everyone who is on the helpdesk you are always such a help. I have gone from worrying to feeling really positive again"
