A series of educational videos demonstrating HRT and ERP techniques for managing Tics

Behavioural therapies and Tourette syndrome

HRT & ERP Video Resources

Tourette syndrome can be effectively managed through behavioural and cognitive interventions that target both the physical expression of tics and the underlying thoughts and urges associated with them. Two key approaches—Habit Reversal Therapy (HRT) and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP)—have shown significant promise in helping individuals reduce the frequency and impact of their tics.

To support greater understanding of these methods, we are pleased to share a new series of educational video resources. These videos explain the principles behind HRT and ERP and feature real clinical session examples. They are ideal for individuals, families, or professionals who want to learn more about how these therapies work in practice or are considering them as part of a treatment plan.

Our sincere thanks go to Dr Tara Murphy, Consultant Psychologist at Great Ormond Street Hospital, for creating these valuable materials.
