CBITS training for professionals

Tourettes Action are offering therapists specialist training in Behavioural Treatment for Tics (CBIT) which is used for children and adults with tics and Tourettes Syndrome (TS). Tourettes Action recognise that there is a critical shortage of trained therapists for people with tics and TS and in order to address this, has embarked on this training initiative.

The training is run by Dr Tara Murphy and Jolande van de Griendt. The training programme will run across two days and is open to professionals from disciplines such as psychology, nursing, occupational therapy, psychiatry and neurology; as well as clinicians with experience of delivering behavioural therapy who may benefit from attending the training.

The programme will include training videos, on-site practicing, and take-home treatment manuals, certificate of attendance and CPD points for attendees. Included in the training is the possibility for a bi-monthly online group consultation sessions for one year to help clinical practice. Once trained, attendees can join the Tourettes Action behavioural therapist list of therapists who offer Behavioural Therapy & Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for the treatment of tics & Tourette Syndrome.
