Meet the team taking on the London Landmarks Half Marathon

The moment is nearly here for our incredible group of runners to turn months of dedicated training into action as they take on the iconic Landmarks Half Marathon in London on Sunday 12 April 2026. Our amazing charity place runners are gearing up to conquer 13.1 miles, raise vital funds for Tourettes Action, and celebrate an inspiring personal achievement.

We’re so proud of their commitment, energy, and determination and will be cheering them on every step of the way!

So let's find out who they are!

Anna Emms

Hi, I'm Anna - running to raise awareness about Tourette’s in support of my daughter who was diagnosed nearly two years ago.

At this time, I knew nothing about TS (other than the Pets with Tourettes book!) and was told by the paediatric nurse that there wasn't any support or treatment for Tourette’s in any case. A few months letter, with things escalating at home and at school, I looked up Tourettes Action and finally everything made sense. The list of symptoms included so many things my daughter was experiencing. Going to the TA support group in Colchester and attending Ticfest were invaluable to us as a family and I was shocked to find out that Tourettes Action don't receive any government funding. Therefore, raising some money to support them feels like the least I can do. The only trouble is that it's a lot harder to train for this distance than it was in my 20s!!

Katie Preston

I’m running the London Landmarks Half Marathon for Tourettes Action because my 11-year-old daughter Isla has Tourette’s.

When she was first diagnosed, it felt like we had fallen into a lonely, dark hole and didn’t know where to turn. Finding Tourettes Action changed that. They raise incredible awareness and provide support that helps families feel less alone.

We were lucky enough to attend Tic Fest, a weekend for children with Tourette’s and their families. For the first time, we felt truly understood and surrounded by people who “get it”.

Running this half marathon is my way of giving back and helping Tourettes Action continue the amazing work they do for families like ours.

Liv Grant

My name is Liv, and I am running the London Landmarks half marathon for my younger sister who was diagnosed with Tourette’s at the age of 11.

Since then, she has faced many challenges, but she has shown incredible strength, resilience, and determination in overcoming the hurdles that come with the condition. I hope the money I am able to raise helps fund vital research and support for other families.

Izzy Stephens

Hi, my name is Izzy, and I am running the LLHM this year. I was diagnosed with TS  in 2023 and it was something about myself that scared me to understand. Over time I have worked on getting to know what this means and I began to speak up, talk to people about how it affects me and along the way I have met people that encouraged me to tell my story.

When I did, I met people who face the same struggles and challenges that having Tourette’s can bring. Deciding to run LLHM means that I can do something that not only I can be proud of (because being honest training for this has been insanely difficult) but also I wanted to do something that other people can hopefully be even a little bit inspired by.

Tourettes Action manages to achieve this every day and without them our community would be half as educated and half as understood and I hope to be able to give back even a small portion of the support that they give to us!

Kerry Trevett

My reasons for running for TA is for my son who has TS. He is a huge inspiration to me and I don’t know how he fights through his pain every day. Each mile will be for him and the other children who deserve to be accepted in our communities and wider world.

I believe that neuro divergence isn’t too much…the world right now isn’t enough. I’m looking forward to running for him because I can.

Nathan Smith

Hi, I’m Nathan. I’m 37 years old and I’ve lived with Tourette’s since I was about 8.

Growing up with Tourette’s wasn’t always easy. For most of my life I tried to hide it and suppress my tics, hoping people wouldn’t notice. Like many people with Tourette’s, I spent years trying to avoid drawing attention to myself.

Only recently have I started to accept Tourette’s as part of who I am. Learning to be open about it has been a big step, and I hope that by sharing my story it helps others feel more comfortable being themselves too.

After breaking my foot twice within a year, I realised I needed a goal to help me get back on my feet — both physically and mentally. That’s when I decided to sign up for the LLHM.

Running the half marathon isn’t just about the race for me. It’s about pushing myself, raising awareness of Tourette’s, and supporting others who may be going through the same challenges I faced growing up.

I’m proud to be running for Tourette’s Action, helping to raise awareness and funds so that more people with Tourette’s can access the support, understanding, and community that can make such a difference.
