Tourettes Action Group Meetings
If you're looking to meet up with other people affected by Tourette Syndrome in your area, why not get in touch with your local group or even consider starting your own.
NEW GROUP START UP MEETING IN STOKE ON TRENT 31ST MARCH 2012
Enquiries for all our groups can be directed to our Groups Support Officer Julie Collier.
We currently have groups in the following areas:
- TLC TA Borders Group - First support group meeting on the 31st March 2012 in Scremerston near Berwick upon Tweed. Open from 10.30am on wards and there will be a small buffet and activities for the younger ones. - Brighton TA Group – The Brighton group hold a meeting once a month. For more information please contact Sasha
- Bristol /Somerset TA Group - We urgently need a new Coordinator for this much needed Group.

- Cornwall - New Group - to meet up with other families in the area please contact Sara on sarasummers480@msn.com who will be delighted to hear from you.
- Derbyshire (Derby) TA GROUP – Please contact Jo for more information regarding meetings in 2011. The next meeting will be in September. Group Coordinator is Jo Fenton
- Kent (Thanet) TA Group – Caron and Jane would like to hear from you if you live in the Kent area and are interested in finding out about future meetings.
- London TA Group - The next meet-up will be held on Sunday 10th June from 13:00- 15:00 - bowling. It'll cost £3 per player per game with shoe hire included. This is same for adults and children. We've got a two hour slot so two games each and I've booked us three lanes to make use of. Payment won't need to be made till the afternoon but if you could RSVP so I'm aware of any amendments needed to be made to our booking. Please contact group co-ordinator Ruth for more details.
- Manchester TA Group – Our next meeting is on the 3rd June 2 - 4pm. Address:Reddish Life Centre, Sykes Street, Stockport, Cheshire, SK5 6AL. If you are using public transport you can get a 203 bus from Manchester Piccadilly Gardens to Sykes Street, Reddish. A bus leaves every 15 mins and the journey takes about 30 mins. - North East TA Group – Next meeting in Morpeth Saturday 21st January 2012. The group is for children and young people and their parents and/or carers. NE group have a fabulous and comprehensive programme of events. Please contact Jac Campbell for more information and to register for the next meeting.
- Northern Ireland (Bangor / Belfast) TA Group - Heather is coordinating this group in Northern Ireland. Next dates are as follows: Please contact Heather for more information and to register your attendance.
- Norwich/Norfolk TA Group - Norwich, NR3 2QZ 14th April 2012 11am - 1pm. Please contact Julie for more information and contact details for the group coordinator julie@tourettes-action.org.uk
- Nottinghamshire (Nottingham) TA Group - This group is temporarily out of action. Please check back soon for updates. Thanks.
- South Central TA Support Group - an informal support group for parents/carers of children with TS in North Hampshire, Surrey and Berkshire (Thames Valley). (The group also welcomes contact from others affected by or with a connection to someone with TS - e.g. wider family members, friends, teachers, etc). - TA Torquay Group – We urgently need new Group Coordinators to come forward - please help us to help others!
- Welwyn Garden/Herts TA Support Group - This group will be meeting in Welwyn on the first Tuesday of every month in a pub on the evening. For more information please contact:nicky_w_clarke@hotmail.com

- Guernsey – Meet every 6 weeks for an information get-together and chat. Contact Theresa Hamel:
We are trying to get groups established in the following areas:
- Sheffield –Paul is very keen to get a TS group up and running in the Sheffield area and he would like to hear from anyone who would be interested in attending. - Middlesbrough / Teeside (south of Newcastle) – This is a possible future group and I would like to hear from people in this area who would like to attend meetings. - Leeds - Bridget is looking to set up a support group in the Leeds area for parents of children with TS. Please email Julie who will forward you details on to Bridget.

- Partner/Spouse Support – Does your partner or spouse have TS and would you like to talk to others for mutual support and friendship? Please contact Julie, who can put you in touch with others via email initially.
