Research Awards

One of the chief aims of TA is to support research and to seek better treatment and management of TS (via research into new therapies and potential cures) with a view to improving the lives of those living with TS. We will therefore continue to focus on these three areas: treatment, management of TS and improving the lives of those living with TS.

HOW TO APPLY – for researchers

The new round of the research award scheme call for expressions of interest will open in September 2018.

Tourettes Action research award scheme call for expressions of interest for 2017/18 is now closed. The expressions of interest are now in a review process and those which have been found to fit within our funding aims and criteria, have been invited to submit a full application. We will consider funding clinical and scientific research and we will prioritise research into the causes, treatment and management of Tourette Syndrome.

Award amounts – up to £75,000 but we will consider requests for larger amounts in exceptional circumstances.

TA will prioritise research into the treatment & management of TS.

  • Pilot and feasibility studies which will lead to applications to major funders for large-scale research trials;
  • Other small projects
  • Postgraduate studentships
