Research awards

One of the chief aims of TA is to support research and to seek better treatment and management of TS (via research into new therapies and potential cures) with a view to improving the lives of those living with TS. We will therefore continue to focus on these three areas: treatment, management of TS and improving the lives of those living with TS.

HOW TO APPLY – for researchers

Expressions of Interest applications for the research awards 2019/20 are now closed.

All those that were submitted before the 4th November 2019 deadline will be reviewed and, if found to fit within our funding aims and criteria, we’ll invite you to submit a full application.

We will consider funding clinical and scientific research and we will prioritise research into the causes, treatment and management of Tourette Syndrome.

Funding rounds happen once every year with a call for Expressions of Interest (EOI) being advertised in the Autumn and money to be awarded by early summer the next year.

Award amounts – up to £75,000 but we will consider requests for larger amounts in exceptional circumstances.

TA will prioritise research into the treatment & management of TS.

  • Pilot and feasibility studies which will lead to applications to major funders for large-scale research trials;
  • Other small projects
  • Postgraduate studentships
