"We had such an amazing time, relaxing as a family and enjoying the activities. The children loved it so much, being able to be themselves and spend time with other TS families. Thank you thank you thank you!"

TICfest Events

Our residential weekend events for families, teens and young adults aim to bring people in the TS community together for fun, rest and fellowship.

TICfest 2020!!

Four fantastic venues for next year’s TICfest weekends.

Have a read through the venue descriptions, they all offer something different so decide which one is right for your family and then email michele@tourettes-action.org.uk stating which venue you have chosen and how many are in your family group*

Closing date for applications is January 1st 2020. We will then run a ballot for each event. If you are successful you will receive an email in February with a link to Ticket Tailor so you can book your accommodation.

TICfest Devon July 10th – 12th

With such a stunning location near Lynton in North Devon we are back for a third year! All indoor accommodation is at the Beacon Centre. This is our smallest event with room for approx 12 families. Situated on the coast with beach access and a fantastic Sunday Roast.

TICfest Windermere July 31st – 2nd August

New for 2020 and our most northerly TICfest. Ghyll Head Outdoor Centre is located on the eastern edge of Lake Windermere, stunningly beautiful. Family rooms are in the lovely old house. TICfest Farnborough August 21st – 23rd

Another new location for 2020, Runways End in Farnborough. Indoor family rooms plus heated glamping pods. This will be our biggest TICfest with space for over 20 families. In a peaceful woodland setting yet with easy access to M3.

What can I expect?

We understand that some children, and their care givers, may feel nervous about attending their first TICfest event; for many families it is the first time meeting other people with TS. Our supportive team are there to welcome you when you arrive, along with the 'tic mates' who are children and parents who have previously attended the events, to show you around, answer questions and help you feel at ease.

All TICfests begin at 5pm on the Friday evening. All meals are included as are all the activities for the children.

Friday night is about settling in, having dinner together, games and a campfire (weather permitting)

Saturday is full on with a variety of instructor led activities for the children, keeping them busy throughout the day; followed by evening entertainment. There will also be the opportunity for a parent discussion group.

Sunday is time for brunch, reflections on the weekend and exchanging contact details!

TICfest is funded by BBC Children in Need and the Sobell Foundation.
