Could YOU be one of our "FantasTIC Fundraisers?"

Don't worry about broken new years' resolutions, why not try a different challenge?

As 2014 drew to a close, our fabulous fundraisers were still going strong, right up until Big Ben chimed  midnight.

Harjit Sandhu undertook a year long fundraising challenge with his T-Shirts4Tourettes campaign. He wore a different t-shirt every week day for the whole of 2014. Harjit decided to embark on this challenge as he developed TS as an adult and wanted to raise money so that more research could be undertaken to investigate adult TS. The response was phenomenal with Harit raising over £700  and the money is still coming in.

Check out Harjit's website to read more about his story. You will also be able to see, month by month, a pictoral account of all his amazing T-shirts, a video he has made and a link to his Just Giving page. Harjit is now going to be selling some of the T-shirts that he wore during his challenge,  in a bid to raise even more money. Congratulations to you Harjit and what an unusual and fun way to raise money for TA.

Whilst Harjit kept himself nice and smart in his T-shirts, at the other end of the scale, we had Emma Trim, Natalie Clarke along with some of their friends who took part in the Grim8 mud run in Aldershot. December 8th, one of the coldest days of 2014,  saw the course organisers cracking the ice off the lakes that they would have to walk, wade, run or swim through in order to complete the 8 mile course. Well done to Team Trim who raised over £1,000. We are very proud of you. You brave lot ! If you love challenges like that, why not reserve your 2015 place?

Emma's husband Tony, is running the London Marathon 2015 on behalf of Tourette's action, along with a team of other enthusiastic runners, one of whom is Pippa, our very own Office Administrator. Pippa did the Grim8 as part of her marathon training and was accompanied around the course by her running buddies and Di, TA's Communications Officer. Also this month getting in shape for the marathon is Aaron Howlett.

Aaron has secured a celebrity place as he is attempting to set a new world record by carrying, "weight" for it, 12 stone around the course. Aaron has completed many endurance challenges in the past and has also appeared on TV. Find out what Sir Steve Redgrave asked him to do by reading his amazing story here.

We will be catching up with more of our TA London Marathon runners next month.

2015 has only just started and already, we have some amazing fundraisers out there. Hats off to Julie Hopkins who is wearing a different hat every day in 2015. She is doing really well so far and has a stunning collection of hats. April Proffitt is also embarking on a challenge spread throughout the year, - her 4 villages half marathon challenge, whilst February will see Colin Rodgers trek across the Sahara for team TA.  We will report back on all these stories to see how they are getting on, but why not click on their links to read what motivates them to undertake these challenges? I can guarantee it'll inspire you.
