Prenatal Maternal Smoking and Increased Risk for Tourette Syndrome and Chronic Tic Disorders

Researchers have found in a group of people they studied that smoking when pregnant was associated with an increased risk for Tourettes Syndrome and Chronic Tic Disorder. They suggest that there may be a pathway linking prenatal tobacco exposure and altered brain development to Tourettes Syndrome and Chronic Tic Disorder.
