Flying the flag for TS for Wales

Lee Hale is a therapist from Gwent in South Wales and is one of the therapists on the Tourettes Action therapist list. He works with children and adults and offers them therapy and support for people with Tourette Syndrome. Lee has Tourette Syndrome himself and recently gave a talk about TS to some of the local Primary Care Mental Health Team.  People enjoyed Lee’s presentation and clinicians were keen to know more.  Lee shared his own experiences of growing up and what it was like being in school with tics - but not knowing what they were at that time. Lee’s presentation also covered what it was like having TS in college, university and now in the workplace. He gave the clinicians 'live demonstrations' of the simple and complex vocal and motor tics he has and showed them how CBIT/HRT can be used to manage them. Lee gave out Tourettes Action information leaflets and passed around therapy manuals for people to browse through. There was positive feedback and people were interested in hearing more about the behavioural therapy training Tourettes Action runs.

Our thanks to Lee and his continued efforts to raise awareness of Tourettes Syndrome and Tourettes Action to people in Wales. Well done and many thanks Lee!
