Tourettes Action were thrilled to be invited to a pre-release, private screening at the Warner Brothers offices in London.

The evening began with pre-show drinks and an audience of TA staff, trustees, volunteers and TA supporters took to their seats with a buzz of anticipation.

Motherless Brooklyn is a 2019 American neo-noir crime film written, produced, and directed by Edward Norton, based on the 1999 novel of the same name by Jonathan Lethem. Set in 1957 New York City, the film follows a private investigator with Tourette syndrome, who must solve the murder of his mentor. The film features a host of major Hollywood movie stars including Edward Norton, Bruce Willis, Alec Baldwin, Willem Dafoe and Gugu Mbatha-Raw.

This was a very positive portrayal of TS that didn't sensationalise the condition. Although Lionels tics were always present,  the positive characteristics of his character and personality were explored and the interesting storyline held the audience as the plot thickened.

It was a big thumbs up from the critics in the audience, and with such a high profile cast, and the positive PR surrounding the film, we hope this will help spread awareness of TS to a whole new audience.

Go see it!
