Roundup of the weekend!

Our third TICfest of the summer has just taken place at Carroty Wood in Kent where 14 families came to enjoy a weekend of fun and friendship. Things certainly got off with a bang on Friday night with a massive thunder storm which thankfully held off until we had finished our traditional Friday night campfire!

As is the way of things at TICfest, children immediately got down to the business of making friends and playing games. On Saturday we saw many conquer their fear of heights on the High Ropes course plus their aversion to mud, there seemed to be some competition to see who could get the most mud on their clothes! (Never bring expensive clothes to a TICfest!)

For the second year the band, Doomsville came to play for us. This is extra special as the lead singer, Paul has TS himself. One of the children marked his Birthday by playing ‘guitar’ on one number and having the happy birthday song played loudly by the band.

Sunday morning started with a guided relaxation session after breakfast and then two very noisy hours in the swimming pool. A roast lunch followed and then some emotional goodbyes. Another very successful weekend with a lovely group of people, already a TICfest Kent facebook page has been set up and families are planning an informal get together later in the summer.

We now have six weeks to unwind and then it all happens again, this time at TICfest Yorks!

And finally...a huge thank you to the Tourettes Action team who provided help and support throughout the weekend.
